Greenbuild Conference & Expo

With more than 28,000 attendees in 2008, the concern for being green is on companies minds. With more people focusing on renewable resources, recycling programs and reduction of waste materials in our landfills, why not be an industry leader with a green display?

Tradeshows and conventions represent the second most wasteful industry in the United States, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The only one worse is building construction, so the tradeshow business can no longer turn a blind eye to its impact on the environment.

Achievements from Greenbuild 2007 in Chicago:

91% of waste produced at the conference venue was diverted from landfill. This amounts to less than half a pound of trash per delegate! Contrast that with the 5 lbs of trash per delegate generated at Greenbuild 2006 and that is a huge savings!

In addition, the two off site events hosted by USGBC composted 3400 lbs of organic waste and recycled 1600 lbs of glass, plastic and paper.

The event was fueled by 100% green power at no additional cost to USGBC.

A minimum of 21% of food provided at McCormick Place was local or organic. Off site events provided over 50% local and organic menus.

Caterers achieved 26-50% cost savings by switching to bulk containers.

245 lbs of food were donated to Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago.

31 hotels in the City of Chicago made a commitment to pursue green certification.

Greenbuild 2007 achieved the lowest per participant event emissions in the 6-year history of the event, with 100% of greenhouse gas emissions and mercury offset.

8,500 square feet of vinyl and 200,000 square feet of carpet were composted or re-used.

50,000 pieces of paper were saved by providing exhibitor manuals online.

These are just a few points of interest in how Greenbuild 2007 succeeded in implementing green awareness and green goals.

Creating a presence on the trade show floor with a green display will give you ample opportunity to show your true colors, whether you have an existing display or are simply in need of graphics Think Green Displays can green up your exhibit.

All Things Organic will be held at McCormick Place on June 16th - 18th 2009. With thousands of certified organic products to be tasted & sampled, All Things Organic opens the door for companies to learn about the changing market place.

The All Things Organic Conference & Trade Show takes place alongside the Organic Trade Association’s Annual Meeting and Member Days, Expo Comida Latina and All Asia Food, and features a Health & Wellness Education Program, Health & Wellness Pavilion and Specialty Pavilion.

Preparing for a green trade show is similar to any other exhibiting experience, but do you know if your exhibit is “eco-friendly?” Many exhibit companies claim their products to be green, as if the statement is enough. The materials are used more than once, that we have found to be correct.

This is only a small portion of the reduce, reuse and recycle…

By reducing the consumption of raw materials and using renewable resources for your exhibit structure is the starting point of how we grow our exhibits from the ground up.

Bamboo Plywood for example is used in our exhibit cabinets & counters, this is made from a rapidly renewable resource and is made from 100% bamboo. Bamboo is part of the grass family and is harvested every 7 years, this is how we grow our exhibits from the ground up.

All Things Organic gives you a chance to meet industry leaders and decision makers, meeting them and showcasing your products in a green trade show display, will allow your “green initiatives” to be seen loud & clear.

2009 will be held in Chicago this year on May 4- 7 at McCormick Place.

Each year, wind energy professionals gather at this event to learn about the latest industry developments and technologies, review new products and services in the expansive exhibit hall, and network with leading industry decision makers.

We will be exhibiting at this show and will be featuring our new line up of green trade show exhibit systems, actually the worlds first display system designed to be earth friendly from the ground up.

If you are exhibiting at the Wind Power show this year and are still using an older non earth friendly display it may be just the right time to show your true colors.

We have put together a great rental package for you that will allow you to exhibit in a green sustainable display and not pay any more than the show is renting. Shipping, setup and tear down and standard carpeting is included in the price. See? Ccontrary to popular belief, It does not cost more to be green!

Besides the basics we have some great new custom rental design packages we put together just for this show too, check them out.
